This artwork was created by Aleea W., Class of 2027. The description of the piece is below:

"I was inspired to create this art because, to me, biology represents the core processes that sustain life. As the smallest form of life, the cell undergoes division necessary for growth and development. In this painting, I illustrated a pattern of dividing cells capturing each mitotic stage- interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase- resembling what one may observe under a microscope. The vibrant paints were chosen to reflect the beauty and energy of life, while the gradient from one hue to another is meant to represent that life is ever changing, from the vast transformations of evolution to the intricate process of mitosis."
